Students and Volunteers Take the LEED to Help Harford Habitat for Humanity Build a Brand New Green Home

On June 26, 2009 at 11 am Harford Habitat for Humanity will be dedicating there newest home for the Duke family at 1512 Mitchell Lane in Aberdeen. Ms. Joy Duke and her daughter Adrianna will have a home to call their own thanks to many dedicated Habitat volunteers and supporters. This home, built by the students of Harford Technical High School, is the first student-built, modular, LEED certified green home in Maryland. PEG provided the HERS rating and Energy Star Certification for the house as required by LEED for Homes. PEG also helped oversee a number of green building components including an energy efficient HVAC system, energy efficient windows and appliances.
